Private house, Dublin 6

This is a detached, two storey over garden level house built in the 1870’s which is a Protected Structure. Over the years internal modifications and a three storey extension to the rear were built. The brief was to work with the existing structure and to adapt and extend it to accommodate to suit the family’s needs making it suitable for contemporary life. The design solution was to re-work the non-original extension and add a new return to create an improved layout on and between each level and the gardens. Planning permission has now been secured and the project is currently at tender stage.
