National Library of Ireland Book Repository, Dublin 2

This project was carried out in collaboration with the Office of Public Works for a new 6,000m2 Library Archive Building developed from concept design to completion of tender documents. The new facility is to be built over 7 levels, including 2 basement levels, and includes a new public atrium and connections to the existing library buildings which are protected structures. The solution was designed in compliance to archival standards BS:5454:2000. The project required co-ordination with occupied parts of the campus creating 100% site coverage in a confined site. Coda has worked with the OPW on a number of phases of the National Library Development Plan from 1999 to the present.
