House Refurbishment, Dublin 6
The property is an 1860’s Protected Structure comprising two stories over a garden level. The property was in 17 flats and in very poor condition after many years of neglect. The proposals were to remove the unnecessary non-original extensions and internal alterations and to carry out repairs and alterations to enable the property to revert to single family occupancy. Our aim was to respond in an appropriate and sympathetic manner to the nature of the protected structure, preserving its architectural significance while at the same time meeting the requirements of a twenty first century family home. The solution provided the reinstatement of the principal period rooms and original detail mixed with a contemporary styled reworking of extensions and the lower ground floor.
